About Saint Paul’s By The Sea Episcopal Church

Welcome to St. Paul’s by-the-Sea, a vibrant church community in the historic resort town of Ocean City, Maryland.

Our formal mission statement is to “Love God, Serve the World”

In recent years we have come to express our mission as ‘Feeding People: Body, Soul and Spirit. Here are some of the main ways we feed others:

Body: The NOEL Community, Men’s and Parish Breakfasts, Shepherd’s Crook, and various social gatherings throughout the year.

Soul: The various programs offered by our latest ministry The Red Doors Community Center.

Spirit: Worship from the breadth of the Anglican tradition, a variety of Christian formation offerings and individual pastoral care.

Located just steps from the Atlantic Ocean, St. Paul’s by-the-Sea has been ministering to Ocean City residents and visitors for over a century. The parish was founded in 1878 as a summer mission of St. Paul’s in Berlin, Maryland. We invite you to join us in both our formal and informal missions by learning more about them throughout our website.

On November 26th, 2013, we experienced a tragic fire in our Rectory which claimed the life of Father David Dingwall. Tributes to Father David may be viewed here.

Regular Sunday Holy Eucharist services are Rt. I 8 am and Rt II 10 am. The 10 am service is with music. Bulletins are available for ALL that will enable you to follow our service.

Every church says that it’s Family Friendly but at Saint Paul’s by-the-Sea we really mean it. We understand that children need to move around and that’s okay with us. In fact children are always welcome in worship they are encouraged to participate as they are able. We also offer a Children’s Ministry Sunday school session during the service.
